Prelude

I've been so busy lately, I haven't had enough time to update my new blog! This is bad, real bad. I've been meaning to post up some outfit photos, but with my uni exam coming up next week, I'll be absolutely swamped in books at the library. The worst part is I have to ban myself of all fashion sites for the next week until my paper is done. Sigh.. Oh well, might as well make the most out of this quick post.

My boyfriend and I will be celebrating our one year anniversary in the next few days. Please, do not tell me this is not a big deal, because he really is the first one I actually stuck to for so long. Honestly, I really don't know how he can stand my avid hunger for shopping, and all things glamorous. The fact that the both of us are still only full time university students makes it even harder for him to afford my craving for luxury, so I really don't know how he manages me sometimes. I am planning to scour Melbourne city for a sufficient-paying part-time job next semester, one that does not have me scrubbing the kitchen floor for a measly $5 an hour in Chinatown. Yes, it was my own fault for accepting that job, but I was really low on cash for food that year from all the online shopping. Anyway, I quit that job a long time ago.

Right now, I am living on Jon's electricity and my Dad's card (in hopes he doesn't notice the words David Jones on the statements, ever.) For our anniversary, I have shamelessly approached Jon with a gift request in mind. I have "asked" him for this

Please, pray with me that I will have this in my hands soon!

My last trip to France was infused with art, mainly from the Impressionist era which brought to life all the little wonders of the world, courtesy of Van Gogh and Monet. I travelled to Giverny just so I could proudly say I have visited the house of Claude Monet and threaded amongst the paddy fields where Van Gogh had shot himself too many years ago. I found myself particularly immersed into Monet's astounding 'pastel-coloured' paintings of Les Nymphéas at the Musée de l'Orangerie. It is so delicately intricate, it is almost despairing.

Of course, there was Printemps as well! Oh Printemps, how I love you for all your splendor.
Walking into Printemps is like pulling the ribbon of a beautifully boxed Christmas gift, I love it. Needless to say, I visited Printemps almost every day that I was in Paris, which subsequently led to my first tea hour at Ladurée . Of course, a little shopping was in order after that, and by the end of a fortnight, my check-in luggage was filled to the brim.

Amongst the collection of photos I took during my stay in France, I've integrated a few gorgeous numbers from the current season. I am so in love with Micheal Lo Sordo's water color prints. Clean, soft and crisp, they remind me of the reflection of flower petals floating on clear water during various seasons of the year. Josh Goot's Flower Brocade dress is also a to-die-for item, with prints resonating a mysterious aura of the treasures of the tropic, and Giambattista Valli's Basket Weave dress has vibrant prints clashing so perfectly, it pleases anyone's eyes. The cluster of sakura flowers floating around on a clear Spring morning was my depiction of Mary Katrantzou's stunning Floral Bustier Dress, a perfect mix with a pair of white snake-print pumps like these for a polished look.
